Online Class

Journal
What did you think about yesterday’s digital Peer/Reader Review sesh? Better/worse/same as the “old school” hard copy one? Please explain!
I thought the review session was helpful! I liked how on google docs you could leave comments at certain points of peoples essays. It helped when people told me there was a run-on sentence here or there. I also like how I got to read 2 people's essays and not just one person. I think there were pros and cons to each of the edit sessions. With the hard session, there was more time to focus on my own essay which I liked.
So, in the end, how’d your WP2 paper go? What were you happy with? What weren’t you? Why? Be specific! (Remember: this is fodder for your end-of-quarter metacognitive reflection)
I’m not sure how I felt about this one. I feel like over all I did not like the prompt so I was not happy with how my essay turned out. I tried listening to Zach’s last comments and breaking up my paragraphs into “bite-sized pieces” but I’m not sure if I did a good job of it/if i did it right. I think there is room for improvement with it.
Which 2 or 3 comments that you received yesterday were the most helpful for you? Why?Explain what moves are and add a better intro.
I’m happier with how my introduction turned out because of those comments.
Painting Trees
All of the artist’s were keen on keeping their work consistent. In the first three videos, the person and cartoon were all very descriptive with talking about the color of the paint they were using. They used words like “Prussian blue” and “hunter green.” The Bob Ross videos were definitely more generic and more of a teaching style video, whereas the other video was very fast paced and showed you how hard it was to work on animations. The style of the trees were also very different; one was a lot more simpler than the other. The last video—about sleeping beauty—had a lot more detail put into it. As an audience member, the videos made me wish I was able to paint. In the first video, the moves were how Bob Ross was teaching us how to paint and explaining each step he did. The moves in the second video were talking more about how they talked as a team and they also had a narrator.
